Your privacy, in plain language
We try to write our policies the way we would explain them to a friend. Here is what we collect, how we use it, and how to reach us if you have questions.
Last updated June 2026Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information KnitterLover collects when you shop with us, how we use it, and the choices you have. We are a small team, and we try to collect only what we need to run a friendly, reliable shop and to keep you in the loop about your order.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect the following information.
- Contact and order details you give us at checkout, such as your name, email address, shipping address, billing address, and phone number.
- Order history, including the products you purchase, order totals, and any notes you add.
- Messages you send through our contact form, including your name, email address, order number, and the content of your message.
- Basic technical information, such as your browser type and general location, which helps us keep the site running smoothly and securely.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- process and ship your order
- send order confirmations, shipping updates, and receipts
- respond to questions and support requests
- keep records for accounting, tax, and legal purposes
- improve our site, catalog, and overall shopping experience
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not send marketing emails unless you ask us to. If we ever introduce an email newsletter, we will ask for your permission first.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies help us remember what is in your cart, keep you signed in if you have an account, and understand how visitors use the site so we can make it better. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the shop, including the cart and checkout, may not work properly without them.
Payment processing
All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number, expiration date, or security code. Stripe's own privacy practices govern how that payment information is handled.' ), array( 'p', 'Two others are worth naming while we are at it. <strong>Namecheap</strong> runs the servers this shop and its email sit on, so it holds everything the site holds. <strong>Google Fonts</strong> serves the typefaces the shop is set in, which means Google sees your IP address when a page loads. There is no Google Analytics here, no advertising pixel and no session recording.
Shipping and order fulfillment
To get your order to your door, we share what is needed to ship it, and we would rather name the companies than call them suppliers. Most items are made to order by <strong>Printful</strong>, which receives your name, delivery address and the details of the item so it can print, pack and post it. The <strong>postal carrier</strong> receives the address to make the delivery. Nobody in that chain receives your card details, and nobody receives anything beyond what the order requires.
Where AI comes into it
Some of the writing on this shop, including product descriptions, was drafted with AI assistance and then read and edited by a person before publishing. Where an image was generated by AI rather than photographed, it is labelled where it appears, because a picture of a thing you might be sent should be the thing you would be sent.
Your side of it is untouched. Nothing you send us goes into an AI service. Not an order, not a message, not an address. No automated system makes a decision about you or your order.
Nothing here renews on its own
Every item in this shop is a one-off purchase. We do not keep your card on file against a future charge and there is no subscription to cancel.
If we ever offer something that repeats, three things will be true from the first day it is sold: the price, the interval and the cancellation route will be shown at checkout before you pay, a reminder will arrive at least seven days before each charge, and cancelling will be a link in your account rather than an email you have to write.
Data retention
We keep order records for as long as needed for accounting, tax, and legal purposes, and to help if you have a question about a past order. Contact form messages are kept for as long as needed to resolve your request, and removed periodically after that.
Your rights and choices
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you at any time. To make a request, email us at privacy@knitterlover.com and we will get back to you as soon as we can. If you ever receive a marketing email from us, you will be able to unsubscribe with one click.
Children's privacy
KnitterLover is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our shop grows. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page, so feel free to check back occasionally.
